We are seeking an Inpatient Occupational Therapist to join our team at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital. This role is designed for a licensed professional with strong problem-solving skills who thrives in a cohesive team environment. You will serve as a vital resource in your area of expertise, guiding patients through their recovery journey while facilitating staff development and educational activities.
In this position, you will partner with patients and their families to deliver evidence-based care that maximizes effective and safe outcomes. Your day will involve conducting initial evaluations and re-evaluations, developing comprehensive treatment plans, and implementing interventions that adhere to accreditation guidelines and professional standards of practice. You will also play a key role in discharge planning, Durable Medical Equipment (DME) recommendations, and providing essential education to patients and caregivers.
Beyond direct patient care, you will actively participate in process improvement initiatives, staff meetings, and the development of treatment guidelines. As a preceptor, you will have the opportunity to mentor new employees and students, sharing your knowledge to foster the next generation of occupational therapists.
