This Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) role is designed for a technically proficient professional dedicated to the rigorous security standards required by the Department of Defense. You will be the bridge between complex technical security controls and the operational reality of mission-critical systems.
In this position, you will work closely with system owners, engineers, and government stakeholders to drive Authority to Operate (ATO) efforts and sustain continuous monitoring activities. Your day-to-day involves developing and validating security controls within DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) environments. You will interpret vulnerability scan results, analyze logs to verify control effectiveness, and produce audit-ready documentation that ensures our systems remain resilient against evolving threats. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of our national security infrastructure.

Experience as a Security Control Assessor (SCA) or assessor support. Familiarity with FISMA, FISCAM, and federal audit requirements. Experience supporting cloud environments (AWS GovCloud preferred). Experience with automation or scripting to support security tasks. Strong understanding of Zero Trust principles. Experience supporting SAP/SAR or other high-side environments.
