About the Role

As an Information System Security Officer (ISSO), you will be the guardian of the operational security posture for critical information systems. This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity of Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP) activities. You will work in close collaboration with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and Information System Owner (ISO) to manage the day-to-day security operations of your assigned systems.

Your day-to-day responsibilities involve a dynamic blend of physical and environmental protection, personnel security, incident handling, and security training. You will monitor information systems and their operating environments, developing and updating authorization documentation while implementing configuration management across authorization boundaries. A key part of your mission is assessing the security impact of changes, coordinating modifications with the Authorizing Official (AO) or Designated Approving Authority (DAO), and providing strategic recommendations to the ISSM to ensure continuous compliance and security.

Hiring Process

Candidates must possess a current Top Secret/SCI clearance and be able to attain a TS/SCI clearance with a CI Polygraph. This position requires U.S. citizenship and is based onsite in Fort Walton Beach, FL, with potential travel to other locations in the Florida panhandle including Eglin AFB, Gulf Breeze, Hurlburt Field, and Pensacola. The role involves 10-25% travel and a standard 40-hour work week.
