The Connecticut Institute for Communities (CIFC) is dedicated to empowering families and strengthening communities through comprehensive early learning programs. As a leading provider of Head Start services, CIFC is committed to fostering the growth and development of children from infancy through preschool, ensuring every child has a strong foundation for future success.
The CDA Specialist serves as a vital support within our Early Learning unit, working directly under the direction of a Lead Teacher to assist 1-2 classrooms. This role is designed for individuals passionate about early childhood development who thrive in a collaborative environment. You will be an integral part of the daily rhythm of the classroom, helping to plan and implement routines, curriculum, meals, and activities for children aged 6 months to 5 years.
Whether supporting a group of 14 to 20 Head Start/Preschool children or a smaller cohort of 7-8 Infant/Toddler children, you will help execute the core functions of the Head Start program. Your day will involve assisting with learning strategies, supervising students during play and field trips, managing non-instructional routines like snack and toilet times, and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the well-being of young children and their families while growing professionally within a supportive team.
Applicants are encouraged to submit their resume and cover letter detailing their interest in early childhood education. Candidates with bilingual skills (English/Spanish or English/Portuguese) are strongly encouraged to apply. Selected candidates will be invited for an interview to discuss their experience and fit within our team. Successful candidates will be required to provide recent documentation of health status and a fit-for-duty examination prior to starting.
CIFC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Provider. We believe in the power of diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment where all staff and families feel valued. We actively encourage candidates with multiple language capabilities to join our team, reflecting the diverse communities we serve. We offer a competitive compensation package and a comprehensive fringe benefits package, including health care coverage and a retirement program, to support our dedicated staff.
