Our Early Learning unit is dedicated to supporting the core functions of the Head Start program, serving pre-school and infant/toddler children aged 6 months to 5 years. We foster a family-centered environment where every child's unique needs, interests, and abilities are met with care and educational rigor.
As a CDA Specialist, you will work under the direction of an assigned Lead Teacher to assist 1-2 classrooms. Whether supporting a group of 14 to 20 Head Start/Preschool children or 7-8 Infant/Toddler children, your role is vital in planning and implementing classroom routines, curriculum, meals, and related activities. You will serve as a key assistant, helping to enforce learning for individual students or small groups while managing non-instructional duties such as snack, lunch, and hygiene routines.
This position is designed for those passionate about early childhood development. You will collaborate closely with licensed teachers to devise special strategies for reinforcing skills, administer diagnostic tests, and maintain high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality. Your day will involve active engagement with children during play, field trips, and emergency drills, as well as serving as a reliable resource for substitute teachers and a point of contact for parents and staff.
We are an entry-level position that values potential and commitment. Candidates with a Child Development Associate (CDA) Certificate are required, or a commitment to obtain one within one year of employment (paid by the employer). We strongly encourage bilingual candidates (English/Spanish or English/Portuguese) to apply. The selection process focuses on finding individuals who demonstrate a genuine understanding of child development principles and a dedication to maintaining effective working relationships with staff, parents, and the community.
We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. Bilingual skills are highly valued, and we actively encourage applicants with multiple language capabilities to join our mission. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background.
