About the District

Omaha Public Schools (OPS) utilizes pool postings to connect with talented educators like you. Rather than a single school assignment, this role is part of a dynamic system designed to match your unique preferences, skills, and ideal work locations with diverse opportunities across the district. During the interview journey, we delve into your background to find the perfect fit among our varied schools.

About the Role

As an Industrial Technology Teacher, you will plan for, teach, and facilitate learning for all students, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. Your mission is to foster students' cognitive capacity, respect for learning, and self-esteem while working collaboratively with students, parents, and staff to meet diverse educational needs.

In this role, you will integrate leadership, technology, and communication into the curriculum, guiding students through a program that emphasizes best instructional practices. You will maintain academic progress and records while ensuring a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning. The position requires a demonstrated philosophy that all students can and will learn, alongside the ability to work effectively with a diverse student population and community stakeholders.

Your day-to-day involves selecting effective instructional methods, utilizing tools such as SMART boards and iPads, and engaging in ongoing professional growth. You will maintain open lines of communication with parents and guardians, ensuring a cooperative relationship with all assigned students. This role is essential to supporting the District's vision, aims, and goals by preparing students for future success through hands-on technology and leadership development.

Hiring Process

As part of our pool posting system, the interview journey is designed to explore your preferences and skills to identify the ideal position for you within our diverse opportunities. Successful candidates will undergo a background check, verification of a valid Nebraska Teaching License, and confirmation of legal authorization to work in the United States. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of these steps and the execution of a Teacher Contract.

Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

Omaha Public Schools is committed to providing equal access and reasonable accommodation for individuals with disabilities.
