At BlueOval Battery Park Michigan, you will be part of the historic transformation of the automotive industry. Our team is dedicated to building and leading an agile group that delivers the advanced technology driving the future. We foster a culture of trust, encourage diversity of thought, and focus on developing leadership in others. This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset to create data-driven solutions that keep our operations safe and efficient.
This position serves as a critical frontline defender for the facility, ensuring the safety of personnel and assets through comprehensive fire suppression, hazardous materials response, and emergency medical aid. You will operate within a high-stakes industrial environment, responding immediately to fires, conducting search and rescue operations, and managing hazardous material spills. The role demands a high level of technical proficiency, from operating specialized fire apparatus to performing technical rescues in confined spaces or high-angle scenarios.
Your day will involve a blend of proactive prevention and reactive emergency response. You will conduct routine facility inspections, verify permit compliance for hot work and confined space entry, and maintain critical fire suppression equipment. During emergencies, you will function effectively within the Incident Command System (ICS), providing clear status reports and executing direct orders. Beyond the field, you will support continuous learning by participating in rigorous drills and assisting in internal safety training for facility personnel.
Candidates must possess full flexibility to work across all established standard, operating, and rotational shift schedules, including day, night, weekends, and holidays. During the training and initial launch phase, the operating pattern will be an 8-10 hour shift, transitioning to a 12-hour shift schedule thereafter. Success in this role requires maintaining physical fitness standards and the ability to make excellent decisions under pressure.
