This role supports the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA), established in 2012 and headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. The NCIA is NATO's principal C3 capability deliverer and CIS service provider, responsible for providing secure and effective communications and IT services to NATO's member countries and partners.
The agency maintains the NATO enterprise-wide information technology infrastructure to enable Allies to consult together under Article IV and stand together in the face of attack under Article V. To operate in this modern, evolving, and dynamic environment, the NCIA relies on a high-performance workforce. This workforce strategically consists of NATO International Civilians, Military personnel, and Interim Workforce Consultants (IWCs), who make up approximately 15 percent of the total workforce.
You will join the team to support the Assistance and Advisory Service (AAS) by administering COI/FAS systems and ensuring their availability, performance, and compliance with Service Level Agreements. In this capacity, you will configure, maintain, and optimize Windows and Linux servers, databases, and supporting enterprise services. Your work will ensure interoperability for FAS and C2 systems, support the execution of NATO exercises, and automate administrative tasks to improve efficiency.
This position requires you to monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve system, application, and database incidents in a timely manner while performing security hardening and vulnerability mitigation. You will provide technical support to end-users, coordinate with stakeholders across multiple domains, and document configurations and procedures to ensure continuity and knowledge sharing.
This is an onsite role based in Norfolk, Virginia, USA. Some travel to other NATO sites may be required. Candidates must possess a valid National or NATO Secret personal security clearance and have a thorough knowledge of English, both written and spoken.
