About the Role
Our client, a leading producer of chemical intermediates and surfactants, is seeking an experienced I&E Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Port Neches, Texas. This role serves as the central point for modifications related to instrumentation, control valves, motors, switchgear, motor control centers, starters, and transformers. The position ensures compliance with both regulatory and company standards in the design, installation, and repair of equipment.
As a key collaborator with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams, you will align project requirements to deliver comprehensive design and installation packages. Your day-to-day impact involves overseeing Management of Change (MOC) for your designated area, contributing to turnaround scope planning, and implementing necessary changes during turnarounds. You will also drive improvements in equipment reliability, efficiency, and long-term operability by leading incident investigations, supporting the bad actor program, and facilitating risk assessments for critical equipment failures.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleProvide technical support for electrical and instrumentation maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation

- check_circleSupport preventive maintenance program development and enhance PM strategies
- check_circleAssist in defining turnaround and inspection work scope
- check_circleLead or contribute to incident investigations and follow-up documentation
- check_circleCollaborate with engineers to drive improvements in equipment reliability and efficiency
- check_circleSupport the bad actor program by identifying high failure rates and implementing solutions
- check_circleProvide guidance for instrumentation and electrical system investments
- check_circleParticipate in capital project phases including HAZOP reviews and power studies
- check_circleCoordinate with stakeholders to ensure spare parts setup and identify capital projects
- check_circleEnsure compliance with integrated management systems including safety and environmental standards
- check_circleFacilitate problem analysis and risk assessment for critical equipment failures
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- verified0-2 years of I&E Maintenance or Reliability Engineering experience required, with 5 years preferred
- verifiedMust have or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
- verifiedProficiency in Internet, Email, and Microsoft Office programs
- verifiedStrong knowledge of control systems including control valves, transmitters, pneumatic/electronic instrumentation, and PLC/DCS
- verifiedBasic understanding of engineering, purchasing, accounting, and construction practices, as well as maintenance workflows
- verifiedFamiliarity with risk-based work prioritization and economic evaluation methods (Life-Cycle Cost Analysis, NPV, Benefit/Cost)
- verifiedKnowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance or Asset Management Plan development is preferred
Nice to Have
5 years of I&E Maintenance or Reliability Engineering experience. Familiarity with risk-based work prioritization and economic evaluation methods (Life-Cycle Cost Analysis, NPV, Benefit/Cost). Knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance or Asset Management Plan development.
