The Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) Engineer II serves as a strategic partner in the engineering and administration of Electric Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) and Building Management Systems (BMS) across QTS data centers. This role is critical for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our facility operations, bridging the gap between sophisticated system platforms and broader business objectives.
In this position, you will drive strategy, design, and innovation for EPMS and BMS systems while supporting construction and upgrade efforts. You will manage the full lifecycle of DCIM systems, including SCADA, ensuring they operate as designed to protect data center assets, capture power usage, and provide timely insights through alarms and reports. The role requires a blend of technical expertise and strategic thinking to navigate complex system platforms and align facility operations with the company's growth.
Your work will span from high-level system configuration for new deployments and retrofits to hands-on coordination of field work and contractor supervision. You will prepare and maintain critical support documentation, test plans, and change management records while implementing corporate policies to maximize system performance. Collaboration is key; you will work closely with maintenance personnel, project managers, building managers, and engineers on site-specific projects, performing inspections and assisting in the testing and commissioning of facility systems.
The role demands flexibility, including participation in on-call duty for off-hour emergency support and the ability to travel up to 25% to other QTS facilities. You will lead maintenance and modification of controls to facilitate more efficient operations, applying analytical and troubleshooting skills to support day-to-day activities independently and effectively.
QTS is committed to finding the right talent for this critical infrastructure role. Candidates must be US citizens due to federal customer contract requirements. If you require a reasonable accommodation during the employment process due to a disability, please contact talentacquisition@qtsdatacenters.com with the nature of your request and your contact information.
