Prairie Farms Dairy is a farmer-owned cooperative established in 1938, owned and operated by over 800 farm families. We have represented American agriculture for decades, with many of our dairy farms operated by generations of families whose roots date back to the 1800s. Our mission is to produce dairy products of the highest quality, conduct business with professional integrity, and deliver exceptional patronage to our network of farm families. We are committed to supporting our communities in a positive, sustainable manner and simply "doing right" for our farm families, employees, and communities.
As the Human Resources Manager for our Battle Creek plant, you will serve as a crucial link between management and staff, aligning HR strategies with company goals to boost productivity. In this non-exempt role, you will oversee recruitment, employee relations, benefits, training, and compliance with labor laws. You will partner with the leadership team and Corporate Office HR to execute our talent strategy, focusing on recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
Your day will involve managing the full talent acquisition process, creating learning and development programs, and providing guidance on complex employee relations issues. You will ensure a safe work environment by maintaining compliance with OSHA and health regulations, investigating accidents, and developing safety procedures. Additionally, you will act as a key point of contact for payroll inquiries, ensuring accuracy in timecards and adherence to tax regulations. This role requires the ability to work without direct supervision, handle sensitive situations with integrity, and collaborate effectively across various locations.
Qualified candidates will be considered for this position based on their experience and alignment with our values. The selection process involves reviewing applications for the required qualifications, including a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration (or equivalent experience), and preferred certifications such as PHR or SHRM.
