Acacia Network is the leading Latino integration care nonprofit in the nation, offering the community a pathway to behavioral and primary healthcare, housing, and empowerment. Since 1969, we have been visionary leaders transforming the triple aim of high quality, great experience, and lower costs. We champion a collaborative environment to deliver vital health, housing, and community-building services. By hiring talented individuals, we have expanded quickly with offices in Albany, Buffalo, Syracuse, Orlando, Tennessee, Maryland, and Puerto Rico.
The Housing Specialist is dedicated to securing permanent housing placement for all housing-ready individuals within our shelter system. This role exists to bridge the gap between shelter residents and stable living arrangements, ensuring successful transitions in compliance with DHS contractual requirements. You will serve as a vital liaison, working directly with community organizations, government agencies, and property owners to secure living arrangements and negotiate rents, deposits, and move-in terms on behalf of your clients.
Your day involves expanding housing options for individuals transitioning to permanent housing. You will guide clients through the entire housing journey, from initial applications and meeting prospective landlords to lease signing and moving. This position requires a deep understanding of the specific needs of low-income and homeless individuals, utilizing crisis prevention and intervention techniques to match solutions to particular circumstances. You will also inspect apartments, verify the status of Public Assistance cases, and prepare monthly reports to track progress.
Interested candidates should submit their application through our standard portal. The selection process involves a review of qualifications followed by an interview to assess fit with our collaborative culture and mission.
