About the Role
We are a national janitorial cleaning company seeking reliable individuals to maintain the cleanliness and safety of shopping malls and major retail department stores. This role is vital to ensuring a pleasant, drug-free environment for shoppers and staff alike.
As a member of the housekeeping team, you will work under the direction of a local Site Manager, balancing independent tasks with collaborative team efforts. The position offers a consistent routine, with shifts scheduled before or after mall and store operating hours, as well as during open hours to maintain daily standards.
Day in the Life
Your day involves a variety of cleaning duties tailored to the specific needs of the facility. You may operate diesel-fired hot water pressure washers to clean sidewalks and entrance aprons, or utilize commercial floor scrubbing machines, buffers, and vacuums to maintain hard floors and carpets.
During open hours, you will patrol the mall on foot to identify and address spills, hazards, and trash. This includes wiping down common area furniture and entrance doors, scraping gum from flooring, and performing touch-up cleaning in restrooms. In the Food Court, you may be responsible for stacking chairs, moving tables, and washing trays using commercial equipment or hand-washing methods.
Safety is a priority; you will be expected to use all proper protective equipment and follow safety precautions when operating machinery or handling cleaning chemicals. You will also manage waste disposal by loading and operating trash and cardboard compactors.
