The Host serves as the vital first and last point of contact for every guest, playing a central role in creating a welcoming and organized dining experience. As the face of the establishment, you are responsible for ensuring smooth guest flow, managing reservations, and acting as the communication bridge between the front desk, servers, and management. This position requires exceptional communication skills, professionalism, and a warm, polished demeanor. A great Host sets the tone for the entire service, combining grace under pressure with genuine hospitality.
In this role, you will embody the company's core values through your interactions, providing friendly and efficient service from the moment guests arrive until they depart. You will manage the reservation system to take, confirm, and organize bookings accurately, while greeting guests warmly and seating them promptly. Your day will involve balancing walk-ins and reservations, communicating wait times clearly, and coordinating seating assignments with the team. You will also handle incoming calls, manage the coat check area, and assist with opening and closing duties to maintain a tidy and organized entrance.
This position requires the ability to stand and walk for the entire duration of a shift, as well as reach, bend, and lift as necessary to assist guests and team members. You must be able to maintain focus and poise in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while communicating clearly both in person and over the phone. Availability for evening, late-night, weekend, and holiday shifts is required to meet business volume needs.
