The Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) Application Support Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for all user inquiries within the San Antonio/Bexar County Continuum of Care (CoC). This role is dedicated to supporting over 40 partner organizations that rely on the HMIS system to coordinate services and care for people experiencing homelessness.
In this position, you will directly interact with HMIS users to ensure the appropriate and compliant use of the application. Your day-to-day involves helping users resolve complex data issues such as incorrect client data, duplicate profiles, and family composition updates, as well as handling routine tasks like password resets and troubleshooting unexpected application behavior. Beyond support, you will play a key role in implementing new application functionality developed by the HMIS team, ensuring customers are informed about updates and that the system evolves to meet program needs.
You will be an integral part of the HMIS department, working collaboratively with other team members and program staff. Success in this role requires the ability to coordinate effectively within a team environment to maintain data quality, ensure compliance with HUD and HMIS Data Standards, and support the broader mission of the Continuum of Care.
This position offers a flexible work model, allowing for remote work with the option to work in person.
