About the Role

Our teachers develop and implement instructional programs that effectively provide the best possible education for each and every student. This role provides teaching services in self-contained classrooms to students whose educational needs are not met by a general education environment. You will serve as a member of an interdisciplinary team dedicated to providing appropriate educational programs for students with disabilities, holding periodic parent conferences and collaborating on individualized planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • check_circleProvide specialized instruction for students with unique educational needs

Requirements

  • verifiedBachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • verifiedAbility to obtain appropriate license(s) and/or endorsement(s) as required by the Commonwealth of Virginia and School Board
  • verifiedCurrently possesses a Virginia Collegiate Professional or Postgraduate Professional License within a specific endorsement area(s)
  • verifiedPrior teaching experience within a public school system
  • verifiedTraining in MANDT methodology for students with emotional disabilities
  • verifiedKnowledge in evidence-based practices for instructing students with autism
  • verifiedTraining for students with Severe Intellectual Disabilities including hygiene, specialized equipment, seizure protocol, and tracheotomy care

Nice to Have

Currently possesses a Virginia Collegiate Professional or Postgraduate Professional License within a specific endorsement area(s). Prior teaching experience within a public school system.
