K12, a Stride Company, believes in Education for ANY ONE. We provide families with an online option for a high-quality, personalized education experience where students can thrive, find their passion, and learn in an environment that encourages discovery at their own pace.
The West Virginia Virtual Academy (WVVA) is a partner school dedicated to providing an exemplary, individualized, and engaging educational experience. Our mission is to combine school and community/family partnerships with a rigorous curriculum and a data-driven, student-centered instructional model. We measure success through valid assessment data, parent and student satisfaction, and continued institutional growth within the academic community.
We are seeking a passionate, highly qualified, and state-certified High School Math Teacher to join our remote team. In this role, you will deliver specific course content in an online environment, providing instruction, support, and guidance while focusing on the individual needs of each student.
You will manage the learning process and monitor student progress through Stride K12's learning management system. A key part of your day involves actively working closely with students and their parents or learning coaches to advance learning toward established goals. While this is a full-time remote position requiring the ability to work independently for 40+ hours per week (typically 9-5 or 8-4), you must also maintain a professional home office free of distractions. Additionally, you will travel occasionally throughout the year (approximately 20% of the time) for school functions such as state testing and professional development.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree and an active state teaching license. If your current certification is from another state, you must obtain reciprocity within the state of West Virginia within 60 days of employment. We strongly prefer residents of West Virginia, though we may consider residents of surrounding states (KY, PA, OH, MD, DE, or VA). All hires must clear required background checks.
Stride, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer. Applicants receive consideration for employment based on merit without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status. We comply with all legally required affirmative action obligations and do not discriminate against applicants who inquire about or disclose their pay. If you require a reasonable accommodation to apply, please contact stridecareers@k12.com.
