Founded in 1909 through the generosity of Milton and Catherine Hershey, the school is fully endowed, ensuring resources for students to thrive. Over 12,000 graduates have been prepared to lead fulfilling and productive lives, and the school continues to expand its reach.
At the high school level, every student selects one of ten Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program Areas to attain relevant certifications and real-world work experiences. The school is dedicated to providing an exceptional career-focused education that begins in elementary school.
We are seeking a dynamic High School Business Teacher to join our Business program area. In this role, you will provide high-quality, engaging, rigorous, and relevant instruction designed to prepare students for the world of work and/or further education. Your day will involve preparing and delivering lessons and assessments that differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, while extensively utilizing data to analyze outcomes and drive student achievement.
Collaboration is central to this position. You will work with colleagues to refine and adapt the curriculum to evolve with current business needs. A key component of the role involves maintaining an Advisory Board of community stakeholders to provide input on the curriculum, integrate external resources for instruction, and facilitate real-world work experiences for students.
MHS teachers are deeply committed to a "whole child" approach, requiring extensive cross-functional collaboration to remediate students and ensure they perform well. You will be expected to schedule and complete additional duties beyond the core teaching schedule, engaging with students beyond the classroom and school day. To support your success, the school provides well-resourced classrooms, state-of-the-art technology, small class sizes, planning periods, and extensive professional development.
