MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is a Level II Trauma center that has been faithfully serving the community since 1893. We operate 4 not-for-profit Catholic Medical Centers and two specialty hospitals with a total of 875 beds. Our parent organization, MercyOne Iowa, has 420 care locations including 18 owned hospitals and 25 affiliated medical centers meeting the needs of Iowans across the state. You will join the MercyOne Richard Deming Cancer Center, a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary, and patient-centered care facility handling 2,000 analytic cancer cases annually. The role offers a built-in mentorship and the opportunity to teach residents and medical students while participating in clinical trials. You will work primarily in an outpatient setting with equitable physician second call and admit to the Hospitalist service, supported by APP inpatient rounding.
The team benefits from a strategic partnership with The Iowa Clinic to expand access to high-quality cancer care in Central Iowa, including Radiation Oncology, Hematology Oncology, and Surgical Oncology with a dedicated GYN Oncologist. The center features advanced capabilities such as the only CyberKnife in Iowa, a dedicated Breast Center, and weekly multidisciplinary lung clinics. You will be part of a collaborative environment with 11 cancer conferences held monthly across disease sites for coordinated treatment planning.
