The Health Specialist serves as a critical bridge between the CDC and the public, providing advanced and accurate clinical inquiry responses regarding disease control, prevention, and national emergency situations. This role addresses complex health-related questions from medical professionals, educators, government agencies, and the general public, covering topics such as bioterrorism, first responder protocols, HIV/AIDS, immunizations, environmental health, and tuberculosis.
You will act as a subject matter expert, responding to inquiries stemming from current events like food outbreaks and natural disasters. The position involves composing detailed reports and correspondence while performing advanced database searches to ensure every response meets rigorous quality assurance measures. This is a temporary position designed to support vital public health communication efforts.
This is a remote, temporary role requiring you to work an 8-hour shift between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday. As a remote employee, you must provide your own personal equipment and maintain a private, secure work area with adequate power sources. You must currently and permanently reside in the Continental US.
