The Health Specialist serves as a critical bridge between the CDC and the public, providing advanced and accurate clinical inquiry responses regarding disease control, prevention, and national emergency situations. This role is vital for addressing complex health-related questions from medical professionals, educators, government agencies, and the general public, including inquiries related to bioterrorism and first responder protocols.
You will act as a subject matter expert on CDC topics, covering areas such as HIV/AIDS, immunizations, environmental health, NIOSH, tuberculosis, and statistics. Your work involves responding to inquiries stemming from current events, including food outbreaks and natural disasters, ensuring that accurate information reaches those who need it most. The position requires composing documents, reports, and correspondence while performing advanced database searches to support these efforts.
This is a temporary position designed to support critical public health needs. As a remote worker, you will utilize your own personal equipment to maintain a secure and efficient workflow. You must be available to work an 8-hour shift between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday, from a private and secure home office within the Continental US.
