By joining Datavant today, you're stepping onto a driven and highly collaborative team that is passionate about creating transformative change in healthcare.
This position serves as a vital link in the healthcare data ecosystem, operating within a high-volume production environment in Houston, TX. You will be responsible for processing medical record requests by taking calls from patients, insurance companies, and attorneys to provide medical status updates. The role requires managing patient health records with a strict adherence to medical privacy regulations and HIPAA standards to safeguard privileged information.
Your day-to-day involves receiving and processing requests for patient health information, preparing new patient charts by gathering documents from paper sources or electronic health records, and ensuring records are assembled accurately. You will create digital images of paperwork for electronic storage, respond to internal and external record requests, and handle administrative duties such as faxes, mail, and data entry. Success in this role demands the ability to organize multiple tasks, work with minimum supervision, and maintain professional communication skills in a fast-paced setting.
To ensure the safety of patients and staff, many of our clients require post-offer health screenings and proof of various vaccinations (e.g., flu shot, Tdap, COVID-19). Requests for exemptions based on disability, medical contraindications, pregnancy, or religion will be reviewed by Datavant Human Resources on a case-by-case basis.
Please note that this job is not eligible for employment sponsorship.
