Datavant is the data collaboration platform trusted for healthcare. Guided by our mission to make the world's health data secure, accessible, and actionable, we provide critical data solutions for organizations across the healthcare ecosystem—including providers, health plans, researchers, and life sciences companies. From fulfilling a single patient's request for their medical records to powering the AI revolution in healthcare, Datavanters are building the future of how data is connected and used to improve health.
By joining Datavant, you're stepping onto a driven, highly collaborative, remote-first team passionate about creating transformative change in healthcare. We invest in our people and believe in hiring for high-potential and humble individuals who can rapidly grow their responsibilities as the company scales. As a distributed team, we empower Datavanters to shape their working environment in a way that suits their needs.
This position is designed for individuals ready to take on an intermediate level of responsibility within our Health Information Services (HIS) operations. You will be responsible for processing all Release of Information (ROI) requests, specifically medical record requests, in a timely and efficient manner. Your work ensures accuracy and provides customers with the highest quality product and service.
In this role, you will safeguard and protect the patient's right to privacy at all times, ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to medical information and that all releases comply with requests, authorizations, company policy, and HIPAA regulations. You will also play a key leadership role by training HIS I staff, generating reports for managers, and acting as a lead for general questions and new hire training.
A unique aspect of this position is the travel requirement; you will travel 75% or more of your time to various client sites. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with minimum supervision, and is eager to manage multiple tasks while maintaining strict data security standards.
To ensure the safety of patients and staff, many of our clients require post-offer health screenings and proof of various vaccinations (e.g., flu shot, Tdap, COVID-19). Requests for exemptions will be reviewed by Datavant Human Resources on a case-by-case basis, depending on state regulations and individual circumstances.
Datavant is committed to working with and providing reasonable accommodations to individuals with physical and mental disabilities. If you need an accommodation while seeking employment, please request it via the 'Interview Accommodation Request' category on our application portal. You will need your requisition ID when submitting your request.
We are committed to building a diverse team of Datavanters who are all responsible for stewarding a high-performance culture in which all Datavanters belong and thrive. Datavant is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer. We do not and will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay.
