About the Role

The Grounds Irrigation Supervisor is a pivotal leadership position within the Grounds Services team at the Tempe campus. You will manage landscape irrigation activities, ensuring the health of the campus environment through precise scheduling, system maintenance, and strategic planning. This role exists to optimize water usage, enhance energy efficiency, and implement sustainable landscape techniques while maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational effectiveness.

In this position, you will guide a team of professionals, overseeing the routine operations of irrigation systems ranging from controller programming to complex construction projects. Your day will involve a blend of fieldwork and strategic management: analyzing weather data and hydrozone information to develop schedules, inspecting finished projects and work in progress, and responding to irrigation-related emergencies. You will also collaborate with outside contractors, manage budgets, and drive the adoption of new technologies to improve the overall effectiveness of the grounds irrigation operation.
