We are a small, dynamic team within the Special Education department at KIPP Public Schools Northern California, committed to facilitating educational outcomes for students that reflect their interests, abilities, and potential. We divide schools geographically among our team, enjoy each other as co-workers, and appreciate the unique role we play in serving the students of KIPP Public Schools. Our caseloads are designed to be manageable, and we have planned for growth in each of these positions.
KIPP Public Schools Northern California is a thriving nonprofit network of 22 free, public charter schools open to all students. We believe all children should grow up free to create the future they want for themselves, and that schools can and should be a critical factor in making that vision a reality. Together with families and communities, we create joyful, academically excellent schools that prepare students with the skills and confidence to pursue the paths they choose—college, career, and beyond—so they can lead fulfilling lives and build a more just world. Our student community consists of nearly 7,000 elementary, middle, and high school students across East Palo Alto, Oakland, San Francisco, San Lorenzo, San José, Redwood City, and Stockton. We strive to cultivate a representative team of teachers and leaders that reflects our students' diversity.
This Occupational Therapist position serves as the sole provider of in-person OT services across 5 KIPP schools in the Stockton area. Reporting to the Lead of the OT-APE team, you will work within a supportive environment where collaboration is key. While you will be based out of one of the KIPP Stockton Schools, the role involves traveling 1-2 times per month to other cities within the Bay Area, with mileage reimbursed.
The day-to-day involves moving between school campuses, navigating various spaces for meetings, and utilizing technology to track and bill services. You will align with and abide by KIPP Schools NorCal's missions and standards, acting as a supportive participant in all School and Special Education teams. This is a full-time, in-person role based on a school calendar, with a 10.5-month salary paid across 12 months of pay periods.
