As a Pet Stylist, you will be the heart of our grooming salon, providing professional grooming services that ensure every pet looks and feels their best. This role is about more than just technical skills; it is about prioritizing the safety, comfort, and well-being of the animals in your care while delivering exceptional customer service to pet parents.
In this position, you will perform expert-level grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts, styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning. You will operate state-of-the-art equipment, from bathing systems to dryers, while maintaining a clean and safe salon environment. Your expertise will allow you to evaluate individual pet needs, considering coat type, skin conditions, and temperament to deliver breed-specific cuts and styling techniques.
Beyond the grooming table, you will interact professionally with pet parents, offering custom recommendations on grooming maintenance and at-home care. You will also have the opportunity to grow your career within Petco, with pathways to become a Grooming Salon Leader, Grooming Mentor, or Grooming Instructor.
To join our team, candidates must successfully complete the Pet Stylist Apprentice program with Petco, or possess previous experience as a professional groomer and/or completion of a technical grooming training program. We look for individuals with a genuine passion for animals, expert knowledge of various dog breeds, and the ability to handle pets of all sizes and temperaments with care.
