This position is dedicated to creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. The primary goal is to establish and maintain a safe, clean environment that encourages customers to return. You will work closely with the department manager to reach sales and profit goals while upholding all established quality assurance standards.

Your day will involve actively engaging with customers by answering questions about products sold within the department and throughout the store. You will provide recommendations to ensure customers find exactly what they need, offer product samples to help them discover new items, and inform them of grocery specials. A key part of your responsibility is ensuring product freshness by checking quality, reviewing "sell-by" dates, and providing fresh products upon order.
Beyond customer interaction, you will manage the physical environment by labeling, stocking, and inventorying department merchandise. You will monitor temperature logs in cases and coolers to adhere to food safety regulations and perform preventive maintenance on equipment. Additionally, you will stay current with seasonal and special ads, report any ordering discrepancies, and maintain a safe workplace by identifying hazards, reporting accidents, and notifying management of any illegal activity or safety risks.
