The City of Fort Lauderdale's Transportation and Mobility (TAM) Department is seeking a skilled Grants and Special Projects Coordinator to lead the department's grant lifecycle activities. This high-impact, detail-oriented role is designed to secure and manage funding from federal, state, and private sources, directly supporting the City's transportation and mobility goals.
The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between the department, funding agencies, and internal stakeholders. You will navigate the complexities of public sector grant administration, ensuring the City meets every compliance requirement while advancing capital improvement priorities. This position serves as the City's primary point of contact for the Broward County Mobility Advancement (MAP) Surtax, managing the full lifecycle of the funding agreement from application to audit.
As a member of Management Category III, this role includes six additional management vacation days per calendar year and a monthly vehicle allowance of $250.00. Please note that this classification is included within the bargaining unit represented by the Federation of Public Employees and is subject to the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Qualified applicants will undergo an extensive selection process and screening program. Prior government experience. Knowledge of federal and state grant compliance requirements, including Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with experience in grant management software or tracking systems. Experience completing project oversight activities for grant-funded capital and transportation projects.
