Pioneer Theatre Company (PTC) is Salt Lake City's only major regional theatre, located at the University of Utah. Our mission is to create theatrical experiences of the highest professional standards, producing an eclectic mix of classic, contemporary, and world premiere theatre that challenges, educates, and entertains.
Operating as a fully professional theatre in-residence, PTC produces a full season from September through May. Over the past decade, we have built a reputation for Broadway-quality productions, including the first regional theatre in the country granted rights to produce Les Misérables and the first Utah-based theatre to serve as an out-of-town tryout for a Broadway musical (Shucked). Today, we serve a regional audience of over 55,000 patrons annually and provide education and access programs to nearly 7,000 students.
The Grants Officer and Fundraising Administrator (GOFA) is a vital partner in sustaining PTC's artistic excellence and expanding our impact throughout Utah and the Intermountain West. This fast-paced, multi-faceted position supports the organization's development efforts by managing the solicitation and stewardship of grants and sponsorships from private foundations, government agencies, and corporate partners.
In this role, you will be the voice of our grant strategy, writing persuasive proposals and compelling reports that summarize complex artistic ideas clearly. You will work closely with the Development and Finance teams to cultivate relationships with funders, track deadlines, and ensure the seamless integration of data across our ticketing and CRM systems. Beyond grant-specific duties, you will provide general support across fundraising activities, including donor communications, special events, and campaign coordination. A deep appreciation for the nonprofit and arts sectors, along with familiarity with issues impacting regional theatre, is highly valued.
Joining PTC offers the opportunity to contribute to a legacy of artistic innovation while supporting a vibrant community of over 55,000 patrons and thousands of students. You will play a direct role in securing the resources needed to bring world-class theatre to life, from large-scale musicals to intimate dramas. This is a collaborative environment where strategic thinking and exceptional writing skills are essential to our shared mission.
Interested candidates should submit their application materials through the University of Utah's career portal. Please ensure your application highlights your experience in grant writing, fundraising, and your passion for the arts.
