The Grant Accountant serves as a critical steward of financial resources, ensuring strict compliance, accountability, and accuracy for grant-funded programs. This role exists to safeguard organizational integrity by managing grant budgets, monitoring expenditures, and preparing precise financial reports that adhere to federal, state, local, and private funding requirements. Success is defined by audit readiness, flawless reporting, and the effective management of grant resources.
You will navigate the intersection of accounting and compliance, managing the financial lifecycle of assigned grants. Your day involves tracking budgets, reconciling funds, and preparing journal entries to support grant activities. You will collaborate closely with program managers and department leaders to provide financial guidance on grant-funded initiatives, ensuring that expenditures align with grant agreements and organizational policies. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to preparing and submitting required financial reports to funding agencies, analyzing data to identify variances, and supporting internal and external audits. During audit periods and grant reporting deadlines, mandatory overtime ensures that all documentation and schedules are prepared with the highest level of accuracy.
Candidates selected for this position will be considered for a temporary-to-hire arrangement.
