The GIS Specialist/Analyst serves as a critical technical resource for geospatial database development, digital mapping, and production workflows. This position is designed to maintain and enhance the integrity of GIS databases while performing complex spatial analysis to support change detection initiatives. The role focuses on developing efficient GIS processes using ESRI technologies and relational database systems, ensuring that geospatial data remains accurate, up-to-date, and actionable for utility and infrastructure projects.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between raw geospatial data and operational decision-making. Your work involves digitizing, updating, and performing rigorous quality checks on GIS databases to ensure high data fidelity. You will conduct orthophoto interpretation and LiDAR analysis to drive change detection workflows, while also attributing structure footprints to determine occupancy information.
A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to designing and implementing GIS production tools to streamline workflows. You will collaborate with project teams to ensure compliance with standards, reconcile and validate edits within production databases, and resolve any data conflicts. Additionally, you will support structure identification and geospatial risk analysis initiatives, providing recommendations for process improvements and creating documentation to guide users through complex GIS environments.
Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geospatial Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field are preferred. However, equivalent GIS experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Please submit your resume highlighting your experience with ESRI technologies, SQL, and geospatial data management.
