About the Role

This position serves as a pivotal hub for coordinating, designing, and implementing advanced GIS technologies. The role balances the maintenance of current applications with the strategic design of new ones, requiring a professional who can both manage existing systems and drive future development. You will be responsible for database design, implementation, and management, as well as the creation of GIS standards. The day-to-day involves developing, assembling, and revising maps using cartographic principles, while ensuring consistency in data stewardship and the coordination of feature updates.

Beyond technical execution, this role demands strong collaboration. You will work closely with technical staff to resolve software issues, interface databases with other systems, and refine business processes for efficient application usage. The position also includes providing primary support to GIS users, managing internet and web-based GIS platforms, and potentially leading or directing a GIS team with a high degree of creativity and latitude. You will assist in the development of application user manuals and collaborate directly with client staff and engineers to ensure seamless integration of GIS solutions.
