Regional School Unit #4 is seeking a Gifted and Talented Educational Technician III to support student development across Litchfield, Sabattus, and Wales. This position is uniquely split between Carrie Ricker School and Oak Hill Middle School, offering a dynamic environment where you will bridge the gap between instructional goals and student needs.
The core mission of this role is to utilize instructional, clerical, and management skills to foster the educational growth of students. You will serve as a vital partner to teachers, working closely with the Special Education Director, Building Administrators, and designated staff to ensure a supportive learning atmosphere.
Your day will be a blend of direct student interaction and essential administrative support. You will become deeply familiar with classroom rules, expectations, and materials to provide seamless assistance. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to working one-on-one with students or leading small groups, delivering instruction that aligns with the teacher's curriculum.
Beyond the classroom, you will support students during testing accommodations, monitor behavior plans, and accompany students on off-campus activities. You will also handle clerical duties such as maintaining student progress records, correcting work, and preparing instructional materials like calendars and bulletin boards. Regular communication with supervising teachers regarding student performance and behavior changes will be key to your success.
Candidates must hold Certification as an Educational Technician III and CHRC Approval from the Maine Department of Education. We look for individuals with experience working with children, basic computer proficiencies, and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff.
