As a Carpentry Technology Instructor within the Construction and Manufacturing Pathway, you will be the primary educator for the Vicksburg campus, with the flexibility to float between campuses as needed. This full-time, 11-month position focuses on teaching day classes, with the option to teach night classes during the summer.
You will guide students in mastering the occupational competencies necessary for employment in the carpentry and construction fields. Your day-to-day involves preparing detailed lesson plans, job sheets, and laboratory instructions, while also developing course outlines that keep the curriculum current. Beyond the classroom, you will foster student success through advisement, counseling, and tutorial assistance, helping learners find employment in related occupations. You will also maintain a safe, clean, and well-equipped shop environment, manage inventory, and collaborate with an active industry advisory committee to ensure strong industry relationships for student placement and program support.
