About the Team

You will be joining the Global People Team within the People Division at American Airlines. This team is dedicated to propelling the organization forward by collaborating with peers, People Business Partners, and Centers of Excellence. Our workforce is built on the foundation of inclusion and diversity, with over 20 Employee Business Resource Groups focused on connecting team members to customers, suppliers, communities, and shareholders. About the Role

As an HR Generalist, you will partner with leaders to support employee relations investigations, performance management, career development, and disciplinary actions. Your day will involve mediating HR-related queries, assisting with daily operational requests, and ensuring the prompt resolution of tactical issues. You will play a key role in shaping the culture by supporting strategic imperatives such as talent strategy, learning and development, and DEI initiatives alongside the People Business Partner. This role requires a professional maturity to handle confidential information with discretion and the ability to work independently while maintaining strong initiative.

Location & Work Model

This role is based in Philadelphia or Chicago; however, it requires a minimum of three days per week in Philadelphia.

Requirements

  • verifiedFamiliar with state and federal employment laws

Nice to Have

Familiarity with state and federal employment laws including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, NLRB, Title VII, etc. PHR/SPHR certification. Experience in providing guidance and counsel to leaders. Strong business acumen and curiosity. Experience reporting, analyzing, interpreting, and critical thinking. Previous experience working with unionized team members.
