The General Manager serves as the captain of the entire store operation, leading a management team to drive organizational objectives, initiatives, and profitability. This role is pivotal in maximizing store performance by managing controllable expenses, optimizing revenue streams, and overseeing the fuel offer where applicable. Beyond financial metrics, the GM is the primary steward of customer and associate satisfaction, ensuring brand standards are met while cultivating a high-performing, engaged team.
Your day involves orchestrating a 24/7 business environment, ensuring the store is staffed appropriately to meet fluctuating customer and business demands. You will actively participate in the hiring process, sharing responsibilities for interviewing candidates and making final decisions in consultation with the management team. A significant portion of your time is dedicated to resource allocation, efficient scheduling, and ensuring all associates are trained to perform their jobs safely and effectively.
You will champion an inclusive atmosphere, taking intentional steps to understand the diversity of your team and promote mutual respect. Through continuous talent management processes—including performance reviews, development plans, and career conversations—you will provide direction, coaching, and feedback to foster individual growth. You will also analyze financial reports and inventory trends to maintain profitability, manage cash procedures, and resolve issues identified through internal and external audits.
Building strong relationships with community partners is a core function of this position, connecting the store with its local neighborhood to develop a robust support network. The culture you help build values associates through celebration and recognition, ensuring a productive and engaged environment where change initiatives are championed and executed with clarity.
Candidates selected for this role will be expected to demonstrate a deep understanding of store finances, the ability to apply systems thinking to complex issues, and a proven track record of making independent decisions. The physical demands of the role require the ability to perform repetitive behaviors such as standing, walking, and handling, as well as frequent reaching, bending, and stooping throughout a shift.
We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where all associates are valued. We encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds to join our team.
