Our client is a leading global provider of silicates, silicas, and derivative products. Their materials power a wide array of industrial processes and consumer goods, ranging from decorative paints and green cement to clean drinking water, green tires, toothpaste, biofuels, and beer.
We are seeking three direct-hire Gels Operators to join this chemical manufacturing facility in Joliet, IL. This position is central to the overall operations of gel production within Xerogel and Hydrogel processes. The role involves a hands-on approach to decontamination, sterilization, raw material handling, gel production, washing, milling, packing, and in-process testing.
This is a rotational 12-hour shift position operating within a 24/7 environment. The work schedule rotates weekly between day shifts (6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) and night shifts (6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.), with flexibility required to meet operational demands. Operators begin by mastering the milling and packing functions before progressing to other operational areas to advance to higher pay levels. Success in this role requires close collaboration with the Maintenance Department to address equipment breakdowns and ensure continuous production flow.
This is a union position. Candidates should be prepared to complete all required Environmental, Health, and Safety training, including computer-based modules and refreshers.
