This Graduate Assistant position within the School of Teaching and Learning at Illinois State University offers a unique opportunity to support scholarly publishing and editorial operations. The role is designed for a degree-seeking graduate student in Teaching and Learning who will serve as a key liaison between the editorial team, authors, and reviewers.
As a Lead Editorial Assistant, you will manage the initial screening of manuscripts and provide administrative support within the Sage ScholarOne editorial system. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve preparing agendas, coordinating with faculty members serving as lead editors, and managing communications with the broader academic community. Additionally, you will contribute to the visibility of the journal by supporting the creation of social media posts and conference sessions. Success in this role requires strong cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when navigating the nuances of scholarly writing and international author interactions.
