The Department of Social Sciences within the College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice to begin in Fall 2026. This is a 9-month tenure-track faculty position designed to balance high-impact teaching with robust research output.
The role involves teaching undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral courses, conducting original research, and mentoring students. To support the transition into the role, new hires receive a reduced course load (2-2) for the first two years, along with a start-up research package and funds for conference travel. This structure allows faculty to focus on publishing in scholarly journals and securing external grant funding. The position requires regular face-to-face attendance on campus to facilitate collaboration and student interaction.
