Wayman College of Aeronautics is South Florida's premier Part 141 flight school for international and local students. Based at North Perry Airport, the Academy operates a fleet of more than 40 aircraft, preparing students from their first hour of flight through Commercial Pilot and Certified Flight Instructor ratings for careers in the airlines.
We partner with Florida Memorial University, Miami Dade College, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Liberty University, the Greater Miami Aviation Association, and five US and international airlines to foster a robust aviation community.
As a certified Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) mechanic, you will be the backbone of our daily flight operations. Your primary mission is to perform line maintenance on our scheduled training aircraft and manage both scheduled and unscheduled (S&U) maintenance for the company fleet, which consists largely of Cessna and Piper aircraft. You will also extend your expertise to outside customers, performing S&U maintenance on Part 23 aircraft.
This role is dynamic and collaborative. You will interact directly with pilots, maintenance personnel, and the broader aviation community to ensure the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency. From troubleshooting airframe, engine, and electrical systems to conducting 50-hour, 100-hour, and annual inspections, your work ensures our fleet remains airworthy and ready for the skies.
We are committed to the growth of our team members. A fully licensed A&P mechanic who completes one year of full-time service becomes eligible for our exclusive Up-Lift Program. You can choose to earn either a private pilot or instrument rating, or pursue an associate degree from Wayman College of Aeronautics.
Wayman College of Aeronautics is a Drug Free Workplace. We value diversity and provide equal opportunity for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or protected veteran status.
Qualified candidates must possess a valid A&P License with FAA airframe and powerplant certification, a minimum of three years of related experience, and the ability to legally work within the U.S. We are currently offering a $3,000 sign-on bonus for fully licensed A&P mechanics, paid in two installments ($1,500 after 90 days and $1,500 after six months).
To apply, please submit your resume and certification details. All applicants will be subject to a pre-employment drug screen. We look forward to welcoming you to our team at North Perry Airport.
