The Avionics Technician II is a pivotal member of our maintenance team, dedicated to ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of Company F-16 aircraft electrical systems. This role is essential for maintaining mission readiness, directly contributing to the safe and optimal flying conditions for our aircrew. Technicians in this position serve as the technical backbone for aircraft avionics, electric, and environmental control systems, bridging the gap between complex technical documentation and practical, on-the-ground execution.
In this capacity, you will operate within a dynamic environment that demands high levels of technical expertise, judgment, and initiative. Your day-to-day involves interpreting military and FAA Technical Orders to solve moderate to complex problems, performing complete repairs and calibrations, and providing critical support for component rebuilds. Beyond individual technical tasks, you will play a key role in fostering team growth by providing training and technical guidance to other technicians, ensuring a culture of continuous improvement and safety.
This position operates in a high-stakes environment where adherence to safety is paramount. You will work in various weather conditions, often around loud noises and hazardous chemicals, requiring strict compliance with OSHA and OH&S requirements. The role demands physical agility and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as operational needs dictate, including potential travel within the US and internationally.
We value a positive attitude and strong problem-solving abilities, even under pressure. Our team is committed to a safe and healthy workplace, where every technician is empowered to report hazards immediately and maintain the highest standards of quality and certification for all parts and tools used.
Candidates must be eligible to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) and maintain a security clearance. We are looking for individuals with a proven track record of success in complex assignments, specifically those with USAF 5-level experience or equivalent documented experience with F-16, F-15, F-22, F-35, or F-18 avionics systems.
While an FAA Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) license is preferred, candidates who can obtain it within six months of hire will be considered. Successful applicants will have completed basic aviation avionics school and possess at least four years of direct experience in the field.
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. Reasonable accommodations will be provided to qualified individuals with disabilities as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other applicable laws. We evaluate all candidates based on their ability to perform essential job functions and meet productivity standards, with allowances made where necessary under relevant federal and state regulations.
