You will join the Line Maintenance Team within the Integrated Operations Division at American Airlines. As a front-line leader, you will be responsible for overseeing aircraft maintenance technicians in the repair and return to service of our fleet. Your role is pivotal in ensuring the safe, compliant, and timely operation of American Airlines' aircraft by effectively managing workload, resources, and relationships with internal customers, support groups, external regulatory authorities, and vendors.
This position is designed for those ready to explore a world of possibilities while tackling challenges with flexibility and grace. As a supervisor, you will guide and direct terminal and/or hangar aircraft maintenance through crew chiefs and leads, ensuring the implementation of the organization's plans, processes, policies, and procedures. Your day-to-day involves ensuring crews are efficiently utilized to accomplish operational workload, maintaining effective communication flows to the workforce, and collaborating with other supervisors to meet company objectives.
You will also identify training and development needs for Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AMTs) within your span of control, providing effective feedback for crew chief and lead coaching. Success in this role requires strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with union leadership, airport management, the FAA, TSA, other government agencies, and suppliers. Associates or Bachelor's degree in business or technical field or equivalent work experience. 2 years of a successful track record of management in maintenance and/or production environments. 3 years hands-on experience in the repair or manufacture of large transport category aircraft.
