About the Team
The Surgical PA Service at Northern Dutchess Hospital is a hospital-based group dedicated to providing a supportive, team-oriented environment. We offer our Physician Assistants exposure to a wide variety of surgical subspecialties, fostering professional growth through high-volume cases, including extensive DaVinci Robotic Surgery.
About the Role
We are seeking a board-certified, full-time Surgical Physician Assistant to join our team. This role is designed for a collaborative professional who thrives in a dynamic setting. You will serve as a key member of the surgical team, providing OR first assist coverage and managing the perioperative care of patients on the general surgery service.
Your day will involve rounding daily on general surgery patients alongside attendings, residents, and students. You will also manage admissions and consults for general surgeons, perform floor procedures such as NG tube insertions and wound care, and provide night coverage for emergent cases. This position offers a unique opportunity to work across multiple specialties, including general, plastic, spine, bariatric, and OB/GYN, with limited cross-coverage between Northern Dutchess Hospital and Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
