As a Maintenance Technician I, you will be the backbone of our community, responsible for providing unparalleled service to our residents. Your work goes beyond simple repairs; you will maintain and improve the overall appearance of the property, ensuring a high quality of living for everyone. Being a successful member of our team requires more than just technical skills—it demands a passion and instinct for caring that helps change lives and strengthen our community bonds.
You will serve as the primary point of contact for residents regarding maintenance needs, interacting positively to maintain high levels of satisfaction. From handling urgent service requests to performing scheduled maintenance on boilers and lawn equipment, your role is vital to the operational success and financial goals of the property. You will also act as a representative of the community, demonstrating strong professionalism and integrity in every interaction.
Your day will be a dynamic mix of hands-on problem solving and proactive care. You will diagnose and repair issues ranging from electrical fixtures and plumbing stoppages to carpentry needs like door and window repairs. You will ensure unoccupied apartments are ready for new residents by performing make-ready procedures, including painting, cleaning, and installing fixtures, all within established turnover timeframes.
Beyond the units, you will be responsible for the daily maintenance of grounds and common areas. This includes managing lighting, trash removal, and vehicle maintenance. During colder months, you will handle snow and ice removal to ensure safety and accessibility. You will also perform scheduled maintenance on equipment based on manufacturer recommendations and keep accurate records of all work orders, inventories, and preventive maintenance tasks.
To join our team, you must be available to work nights, weekends, and on an on-call basis as needed. We also require availability on the last and first day of the month for unit turnovers. Successful candidates will be expected to attend and pass company-paid certification courses, such as pool operator, boiler, and EPA certifications.
We are committed to fostering an environment of fairness and safety. All team members are expected to comply with industry Fair Housing rules and regulations and operate strictly within OSHA standards and company safety policies. We value reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently with excellent time management skills. Join us to contribute to the cleanliness and curb appeal of our community while growing your career in a supportive environment.
