About the Organization
The Center for Family Health & Education, Inc. (CFHE) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) located in the northeast San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles. Since 2009, CFHE has been dedicated to providing affordable and comprehensive medical care to underserved, uninsured, and underinsured residents of the greater Panorama City area. Our services include primary health care, mental health care, dental care, women’s and children’s health care, and patient transportation services.
About the Role
As a Front Office Medical Assistant in our Pediatrics department, you will serve as a vital link between our patients and our clinical team. Your primary mission is to ensure a welcoming, efficient, and compassionate experience for families seeking care. You will verify patient information, record medical histories, and confirm the purpose of visits while preparing patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests such as taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature.
In this role, you will manage the front office flow, greeting patients and visitors in person or on the telephone, and directing inquiries appropriately. You will be responsible for scheduling appointments, maintaining timely patient flow, and ensuring exam rooms and nursing stations are stocked and ready. A key aspect of this position is ensuring accurate documentation of all patient charts, medications, and insurance authorizations. You will also assist in training new personnel and maintaining various logs, including surgical, procedure, and lab records.
Given the nature of the population we serve, fluency in Spanish is imperative to effectively communicate with our community and ensure they receive the care they need.
