As a Fraud Investigator, you will play a critical role in protecting our ecosystem of thousands of merchants and over a million annual customer applications. You will monitor and research risk signals for both customers and merchants to identify potential fraud, including identity theft, synthetic IDs, manipulated IDs, and exploitation of vulnerable persons or family members.
Your day-to-day involves conducting deep dives to determine the legitimacy of suspicious behavior and identifying systemic patterns. You will review and evaluate new merchant partners during onboarding to ensure we are partnering with the right stores and good actors. Additionally, you will manage inbound fraud claims and perform ad hoc research into uncommon scenarios that could indicate foul play.
You will leverage a suite of tools including application data, internal system of record data, internet search data, and third-party fraud prevention tools. You are expected to use these resources and make telephone calls to reach accurate conclusions. This role requires collaboration across multiple departments, including Sales, Operations, Fraud Analytics, and Compliance.

This position requires regular in-person attendance at our office in Richmond, VA. Candidates must already be located within a commutable distance to our office location, as relocation assistance is not available at this time.
