About the Role

As a Food Service Worker within the Dietary-Management department at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, you will play a vital role in supporting patient and visitor satisfaction through the delivery of high-quality, nutritional meals. This position is designed to ensure that the cafeteria, kitchen, tray line, and dishwashing areas operate smoothly and safely.

In this role, you will perform a wide variety of routine tasks, from stocking the cafeteria with hot and cold foods, baked goods, and beverages to managing the register and directing customers. You will be responsible for maintaining established policies and procedures to achieve departmental objectives while ensuring strict compliance with regulatory standards such as JCAHO, DOH, OSHA, and SBHCS. Your daily work involves utilizing proper infection control practices, handling hazardous materials safely, and keeping all work areas, dining rooms, and equipment clean and sanitized. You will serve as a frontline representative of our mission, listening to customer concerns and communicating them to management to ensure a positive experience for everyone we serve.

Hiring Process

Candidates selected for this position must successfully complete both site personnel general orientation and department-specific orientation prior to full engagement in duties. Flexibility in availability is required, as the schedule operates Sunday through Saturday.
