About the Role
We are seeking a Branch Manager with a strong background in the big box industry to lead our Andover, Massachusetts location. This role is critical to ensuring the efficient operation of the branch, driving customer satisfaction, and achieving projected profitability. You will serve as the face of the company, maintaining a positive image through courteous and efficient service while fostering a culture of accountability and high standards among your team.
Day in the Life
Your day will involve managing the general operations of the branch, from overseeing warehouse activities like receiving, stocking, and shipping to ensuring strict compliance with safety and security policies (including HACCP and OSHA). You will review financial and operational reports to drive strategic decisions, maximize sales opportunities through effective workforce scheduling, and manage the selection and development of management-level personnel. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to coaching managers on employee relations, resolving customer issues, and maintaining open communication with both the team and corporate offices.
Work Environment
The role is primarily based in a warehouse setting where the ambient temperature varies; while most areas are moderate, you will work in both cold (freezer) and hot (damages) zones. The position requires standing and walking for up to four hours at a time. While physical labor is infrequent, you may occasionally need to move merchandise or clean areas. The environment includes active industrial vehicles, such as forklifts and Hilo trucks, moving material throughout the facility.
