Key Responsibilities
- check_circleDevelop, implement, and maintain facility food safety programs including HACCP, GMPs, and allergen control
- check_circleLead and mentor food safety technicians by providing training, direction, and performance feedback
- check_circleEnsure compliance with USDA, FDA, and customer food safety regulations and requirements
- check_circleConduct risk assessments, root cause investigations, and implement corrective actions for incidents
- check_circleMonitor and analyze food safety data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement
- check_circleMaintain accurate documentation and records for all food safety and quality systems
- check_circleCollaborate with operations and maintenance to integrate food safety into daily plant activities
- check_circleProvide ongoing food safety training and coaching to plant personnel to strengthen safety culture
- check_circlePrepare for, host, and respond to regulatory, third-party, and internal audits and inspections
- check_circleStay current on food safety regulations and update programs to reflect industry best practices
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Animal Science, or related field
- verifiedHACCP certification (required or strongly preferred)
- verifiedPCQI certification preferred
- verifiedGFSI or SQF/BRC audit experience and training preferred
- verifiedServSafe or equivalent food safety certification preferred
Nice to Have
PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) certification, GFSI or SQF/BRC audit experience and training, ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification.
