We are looking for a dedicated Diesel Mechanic to join our community of "Food People." In this role, you will be the backbone of our operations, providing a safe and reliable fleet by performing preventative maintenance and proper repairs on all fleet equipment. You will work within a strong safety culture, utilizing newer equipment and receiving excellent local leadership support. This position is critical to ensuring our drivers and partners have the reliable vehicles they need to keep food moving.
As a member of our fleet team, you will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair diesel equipment including tractors, trailers, bobtails, and lift gates. You will perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards and manage road calls by assigning third-party vendors and collaborating with business partners on action plans. Your day will involve maintaining a clean and safe work environment in compliance with all workplace safety rules and government guidelines, while utilizing fleet maintenance software to document repairs and parts usage. You will also be expected to backup other maintenance shop personnel and demonstrate a willingness to assume increased responsibility.
This is an onsite role based at a US Foods maintenance facility. The schedule runs Sunday through Thursday from 8:00 PM to 4:30 AM. The work environment requires the ability to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
